Google Search Console case study · April–September 2026
More visibility.
More clicks.
Measured.
Your website should be helping people find your business. Here is what that progress looked like across three websites: faster click growth, a larger search footprint, and sustained visibility at scale.

These are separate website examples with different reporting periods, not one combined campaign or a guaranteed outcome.
A website is only useful if customers can find it.
For the two smaller businesses, the starting point was limited Google exposure and few monthly clicks. The opportunity was to earn a larger presence in search and bring more people onto the website.
We reviewed impressions, clicks, and average position together. That gives a clearer picture than a large percentage on its own.
01 · Equipment rental website
19 clicks became 97.
From July to September, monthly Google clicks increased 410.5%. Impressions increased 270.7%, from 1,423 to 5,275. Average position moved from 33.6 to 23.8.
| Month | Google clicks | Impressions | Avg. position |
|---|---|---|---|
| July 2026 | 19 | 1,423 | 33.6 |
| August 2026 | 56 | 5,986 | 33.9 |
| September 2026 | 97 | 5,275 | 23.8 |
Why it matters
September delivered 78 more Google clicks than July. Clicks also rose from 56 to 97 between August and September, even though impressions fell. More of the site's search exposure translated into visits.
This is the clearest growth story in the group. It starts from a modest baseline, and an average position of 23.8 still leaves room to improve.
02 · Local service website
A larger search footprint.
Monthly impressions increased 528.9% from May to September. Clicks grew from 3 to 11 (+266.7%), while average position moved from 38.3 to 21.2.
| Month | Google clicks | Impressions | Avg. position |
|---|---|---|---|
| May 2026 | 3 | 45 | 38.3 |
| June 2026 | 27 | 296 | 25.6 |
| July 2026 | 16 | 379 | 37.7 |
| August 2026 | 11 | 403 | 33.3 |
| September 2026 | 11 | 283 | 21.2 |
Progress with an honest view of the trend
The site ended the period with more exposure and clicks than it started with. Growth was uneven: clicks peaked at 27 in June, and September impressions were lower than August. The strongest recent signal was average position improving from 33.3 to 21.2.
With only 11 September clicks, this is an early visibility result. The next goal is a larger stream of relevant clicks, followed by measured inquiries and booked work.
03 · Established website
903,551 impressions. 13,394 clicks.
Across April–September, this website recorded substantial Google exposure. Its monthly average positions ranged from 6.6 to 8.8. This example shows search volume at scale, rather than a dramatic percentage-growth result.
| Month | Google clicks | Impressions | Avg. position |
|---|---|---|---|
| April 2026 | 1,536 | 112,342 | 6.8 |
| May 2026 | 2,158 | 123,850 | 8.8 |
| June 2026 | 3,034 | 174,106 | 7.0 |
| July 2026 | 2,880 | 185,994 | 6.6 |
| August 2026 | 2,234 | 186,089 | 7.2 |
| September 2026 | 1,552 | 121,170 | 6.8 |
September clicks fell from 2,234 to 1,552 compared with August. Strong totals still need ongoing attention: the next step is to examine which pages and queries lost exposure. A site-wide average position does not mean every keyword ranks on page one.
How we turn reporting into a plan
At Odd Lemons, the next action depends on where visibility breaks. We inspect technical access, service and location content, search intent, and the path from a visit to an inquiry. Then we use reporting to decide what deserves attention next.
The figures above document search performance. They do not isolate the impact of individual website changes, content updates, or SEO tasks.
The numbers behind the story
Source: connected Google Search Console performance data, retrieved through Windsor.ai on October 5, 2026. Each table covers complete calendar months. Business names are withheld; the results are reported separately.
Growth = (ending month's value − starting month's value) ÷ starting month's value × 100. Percentages compare the stated first and last months; they are not six-month totals, portfolio averages, or annualized rates.
Impressions count appearances in Google results; they are not unique people. Clicks count clicks from those results to the website. Average position is an aggregate metric where a lower number is better; changes in query mix can affect it.
These examples measure search visibility and traffic. Lead counts, sales, revenue, campaign costs, and ROI were not provided. Results vary with competition, demand, starting point, and other factors. This is a selection of results, not an industry benchmark or a claim that every website grew.
